Celebración de La Comunidad en Rancho (Community Celebration at Rancho)
The "Celebración de La Comunidad en Rancho" (Community Celebration at Rancho) is a carnival-style event aimed at inaugurating the "Native-US" mural to our community.
This mural represents the unity, diverse cultures, and rich tapestry of Rancho Cotate High School. What makes this mural particularly special is that it includes landmarks, representations, and symbols from multiple countries such as the United States, Middle East, Pacific Islanders, Latin America, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, etc. All contributed by our own students from these countries.
The Mexican Consulate will be performing the famous "El Grito," a passionate cry for independence and will conduct a flag ceremony, which is typically only done by the Mexican President, Ambassador, or Consul.
Why September 23rd?
September 23rd is a date of immense historical importance as it coincides with the celebration of independence in Latin American countries. It is a day that symbolizes freedom, resilience, and the rich heritage of our Latin American students and community members. Hosting our event on this date not only allows us to commemorate their heritage but also aligns perfectly with the mural's themes of unity and diversity.
We invite you to join us for an afternoon filled with music, homemade food, and a celebration of the wonderful community we are a part of. Your presence would mean a lot to us as we aim to showcase our school, welcome our community members, and make this event a memorable one.Date and Time
