About Our Chamber

The Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization made up of companies and individuals in business. The mission is to create an environment in Rohnert Park in which businesses can thrive economically, socially and culturally and to improve the quality of life in the community. Incorporated in 1963 as a 501 (c) 6 nonprofit corporation, it is staffed by professional staff and governed by a volunteer board of directors.

The Chamber accomplishes its mission by being economic development consultant and advisor; new resident and tourist information center; spokesperson and advocate for businesses; counselor for businesses in economics, marketing, human resources; government relations specialists and lobbyists; and public relations expert; and publicist for Rohnert Park.

Business Building Opportunities
To its members the Chamber provides business-building opportunities through active participation in events and through various committees and task forces. Members can choose from activities that best compliment their talents, skill, interests and business profiles. Being involved builds goodwill and accomplishes community goals.

Reaching Customers and Clients
Opportunities for promoting and advertising are available through sponsorship of the popular NoonTimes, Women in Business Program, the annual Spring Business Showcase, monthly After-Hours Mixers and quarterly seminars. Bus2Bus Email Blasts, and advertising on the Chamber website are available. Members are listed in the directory on the Chamber’s Web Site.

Referrals
Chamber member information is included in relocation packets. Phone referrals are made daily.

Economic Development
This key function supports the Chamber’s mission of creating an environment in which businesses can prosper. The Chamber wrote the city’s first economic development plan; a four-year plan that focuses on business retention and attraction, promotion of city and private recreational opportunities, and a community information and education program that encourages support of local businesses.

Government Affairs
This Chamber function focuses on local, state and federal political issues that affect businesses. It fills a lobby and advocacy role by building relationships with elected officials and educating them in the needs and positions of local businesses.

Business Education
Staying current with technology and business practices is crucial to business success. One of the prime directives of the Chamber is to help businesses become and stay successful. The Chamber offers no and low cost business development classes in conjunction with the California Business Development Center (CBDC).

NOON TIMES “The Local Scoop”
The Chamber offers this monthly program to the community as a way to stay informed of local, regional and state news. Presented by people who make the news, this fast-paced, action-packed lunch program puts business, government and educators together.

Women in Business
The Chamber offers this monthly luncheon program “created by women for women.” Its mission is to mentor women to become leaders in business and the community.

Monthly After Hour Socials
People do business with people they know. These informal social gatherings provide opportunities for Chamber members to get to know each other and showcase their businesses by being hosts.

Annual Spring Business Showcase
This celebration of local businesses is an opportunity to showcase services and products. It is one of the largest community events in
Rohnert Park.

The Morning Buzz
This once a month
continental breakfast program gives business people an opportunity to meet and discuss relevant business and marketing
issues. Bring your challenges or questions. Listen and learn from fellow business people.
